Switch Back to lj

Ugh – I know I’m a total pain in the ass!! I previously got so attached to LiveJournal – once I kind of mastered the highlights anyway LOL.  As several of you know, I recently set it up where I could read some friends’ journals there – & I missed it so much.  I went ahead & took the plunge & made an account there again.  It’s under the same name as here & I’ve friended everyone I previously did – so if y’all see a request from me & are confused, just add me/accept my request I would love for y’all to follow me back over there.  I hope not to make any more changes.  I feel sooo bad about this b/c I’ve put many of you thru so much already.  Anyway, I’m babbling..(no surprise)…it’s still totally public, so we’ll see how this works out..
I havent posted anything yet.  I just got it set up.  I’ll probably post both here & there during a transition period but from here on out, pls visit lj.. :bowing humbly:

 Veteran’s Day

I don’t know if I’m experiencing vertigo or what.  During the night last night I got up to utilize the facilities.  My equilibrium was totally off.  I went back to bed, hoping it would go away during sleep in a few hours.  This morning when I got up, a few traces remain.  I don’t know what caused it but I hope it goes away very soon.
(Update:  It seems to have resolved itself, thank goodness!)

You will encounter someone today who seems like a text book example of a jerk — but you have got to try to be open-minded about them! Judging a book by its cover has never been your style, so what start now? There are extenuating circumstances at work here. Maybe they’re intimidated by you. Maybe they’re acting out because they are nervous or just have a headache! You just don’t know enough to know who they are. Give them a chance and give them time.

Nothing going on today but normal routine stuff.  I do have to make a trip down the road to the post office though.  I’m off to mail a book.  It was funny, after the latest incident, this request had certain conditions.  She requested it not be ‘ripped, stained, water damaged, underlined or highlighted & free from pen & pencil marks or she’d be requesting her credit back.’  Lucky for me, my book met her conditions.  I’m just hoping she agrees.  Sounds like she’s received books in not quite new condition.  Just like the site says – don’t expect perfect condition; although of course a couple of those are non-negotiable.

I’ve been experiencing post-nasal drip again.

Today is going to be busy.  I’ve got the cinnamon rolls in the oven (check).  DH has to help DD8 w/ her turkey project (done).  Last night we picked up the supplies at Hobby Lobby.  Then DS11 wants to go bowling & buy something w/ his money (done).  DH wants to clean both vehicles thoroughly inside & out (on-going).  And he’s gotta pack (not done).

Also, November is shaping up to be a busy month.  The calendar is filling up.

Sunday

Busy day today.  Church.  DH wants to get the vehicles cleaned – before it starts storming.  Go figure.  After church, we are going to WM so DS11 can spend his birthday money.  DD13 also needs facewash (done).  That could take awhile. (actually it didn’t at all!) You know, we’ve been to the px two days in a row yet today DD13 says she wants perfume that can only be found there.  Yet most of her money is at school.  Figure that one out.  (perfume will not be acquired today)  We need to go to the commissary too.  (I don’t see this happening either.  Possibly tomorrow.)

I got so lonely, I went back to lj to look some ppl up & friended them again, using my WP ID.  I’m glad they received me.  I miss miss miss reading their entries.  I also miss lj in general.  I like how comments are set up.  I hate to do it, but I may end up switching back.  It feels so much like home there.  (This is still a thought process.  One major thing stopping me is my ability to share pictures.)

I got the letter in the mail yesterday that gives me access to make online appointments now.  Before it hasn’t worked.  Supposedly, they’ve changed it.  We’ll see. 

You know, I’ve been pretty easygoing about books I receive that I’ve requested on PBS that are unpostable.  But this last one I received it was yellow highlighted thru-out.  I looked it up & even asked a librarian on site to make sure it wasn’t allowed.  I didn’t ask for my credit back b/c I wanted the book & I can still read it, but I did PM the sender to tell her I’d reported it & I copied/pasted the guidelines & provided the url.  I do feel bad though.  Everyone has been nice to me, even if they were in the wrong.  I hope my luck holds out for this one.  She’ll probably say, ‘I received it like that but never reported the sender.’  I know she’ll probably be mad but oh well.  I’m not the one in the wrong.

I’ve wasted an entire day online! I need to drag the treasure box (cat litter), sort laundry to do tomorrow, & put away the clean dishes in the dishwasher & put the dirty ones in.

DS11 Bday

Henceforth, DS10 is now DS11

Yesterday afternoon Wrench had a seizure.  He hasn’t had one in quite a while.  In fact, it’s been longer than a year – before we got Trixie.  He laid in the same spot for awhile even after it was over.  In the beginning, Trixie kept bothering him.  She didn’t think anything was up & was trying to play w/ him. 

I received log in info for DD13 in the mail yesterday for the new program the district purchased to track her grades, assignments, etc.  I hope to receive log in info for the other 2 very soon.

My mom sent me a Pizza Hut giftcard, so I designated tonite pizza nite.  It was the first year she hadn’t called in the morning to wish me a happy birthday.  Because of work meetings, she didn’t get a break or a lunch today, so had to wait ‘til after work to call me.  Found out she was calling me as she drove home.  My mom, such a rebel! Lol

DD8 brought home her school pictures yesterday.  I’ve gotta get a frame now.  I also need to get her some new jammies.  I’ve looked several places but just can’t find what I’m looking for.  Everyone sells the Hannah Montana, High School Musical expensive stuff.

DH’s:  Budget and money confusion abounds right now, and are you sure that you have accounted for all of the checks you have written? Make sure, because the chances are high that you could be misled by your banking statement right now. Double check! You should never take chances when your credit or your health are concerned. And on that note, when did you have your last checkup? Getting healthier requires you to get more diligent about preventative care. Call them up today and schedule a visit.

My Birthday

This is what greeted me this morning:

It’s a massaging footbath w/ heat.  They also got me a small cactus I’d admired for awhile.  They got me 2 packets to add to my footbath.  Two cards – one from DH, the other from the kids.  Very sweet cards.  And balloons! DH said they haven’t gotten me balloons, so he wanted to give me something different.  He sure did! He was sweet to me this morning before he headed off to work.

Kids have a half day of school today, so it’s a short day for me as well.  I’ve gotta get a shower taken & get in some brief me time.

Tuesday afternoon

I listened to my dad’s tape today.  Wow.  The Lord definitely works in mysterious ways.  He’s been going to a Baptist church!
He didn’t respond to several things from my tape – but..it’s weird…and hard to explain..he addressed things that weren’t even said.  I know that probably doesn’t even make sense.
He’s got some really interesting philosophies on life.  I have to say, I can really appreciate a lot of what he says.  He talks about being cordial to ppl even if you don’t agree w/ them.  Allow them to talk all they want but if you don’t agree w/ them – ‘keep your mouth shut’ LOL! Unless of course they ask your opinion.  He says he does that w/ my mom (they talk once in awhile).  I had to laugh! He says she does that w/ him.  I must say, I agree.
He explained why he never registered to vote & stays out of politics, even though he does have an opinion.  He said he went to register to vote after he got home from Vietnam.  They asked him which party he wanted to be affiliated with.  He said he didn’t know.  They told him he had to pick one.  I’m not sure if they didn’t have ‘independent’ back then or not.  They told him he was un-American.  This made him really angry.  He said, ‘I just risked my life for a year in Vietnam defending your sorry ass & you wanna say that to me!’ He said he turned around & walked out & never went back.  I can definitely understand that.

Anyway, in other news – DH finally told me when his ‘work lunch’ is:  Friday.  Except it’s not just a normal lunch – it’s a hail/farewell.  And I’m *not* invited. 
Thursday is early out for the kids.  I have no idea why.  So, he probably thinks he’ll be able to take me to lunch but b/c of that – which he doesn’t realize – there will be no time.

Last night we celebrated my & DS10’s birthdays, by way of cake/ice cream & opening gifts.  I took a few pix.  Gotta get them off the camera.  Tonite we’re going to dinner at the Chinese restaurant, per DS10’s request.  It’s family tradition the birthday person gets to pick what they want for dinner.  That’s what DS10 picked.  We’re celebrating now so DH will be able to be apart of it.  DH isn’t that thrilled though about us celebrating now nor the fact we’re eating Chinese tonite.  He’ll get over it.  I want DS10 to feel special.

DD13 volunteered that her boyfriend is smart.  He makes all A’s & is in all pre-ap (advanced placement/honors) classes.  He’s also a football player, which I knew previously.  Sounds like DD13 has done well for herself! Maybe he should tutor her LOL!

I started during the night last night – finally.  For two days my lower back was in a lot of pain.  Now that I’ve started, the pain in my female areas is bad too.  Took a Naproxen this morning but it’s not getting rid of it.  Might have to take a narc tonite.

I’m happy to report the children’s Benedryl worked on DD8!! I’m soo relieved!

DH is helping DD13 w/ her history diorama.  He wants to wash the vehicles.  DS10 wants to go bowling for his birthday.  Not enough time today to do it all.

Election Day

Today the fate of the nation is decided.  Do you think there’ll be a ‘Florida’ this year? I hate to admit that neither myself nor my DH are even registered to vote.  He apparently had many opportunities at work.  Wish he would’ve told me.  Nothing that can be done now.  With our sporadic talks, I thought DH & I were in agreement to who we’d vote for.  Last night he jumped ship & would’ve voted for the one I dislike.  The smear campaign has gotten to him.  He has chosen to listen to the other side’s lies instead of the facts.  The nation has been wooed IMO.  Crazy times we are living in.

DD8 has a ‘project’ due next week.  She has to decorate & cut out a turkey.

After school had started, I was scrolling thru channels & discovered yesterday was retakes at DD13’s school.  She could’ve gotten pix.  But alas – too late.  She really doesn’t want her picture hanging on our wall.

The subject of leave was brought into our house last night when one of DH’s soldiers called.  Can you believe they are only getting a week of leave, starting on Christmas Eve????? I simply cannot believe this.  I still don’t have any dates, which is complete BS.

I keep asking DH when his work lunch is & he’s getting increasingly angry.  He ‘doesn’t know’.  So, yeah – I’m guessing it’s my bday.  That’s ok.  I’m kinda over it now.

I received another email from reunion.com today.  New info for my DH.  Since he was still home, I invited him over to take a look-see.  It said he’s been a member since 10 July.  Right there in black & white & he denied it.  WHY???? I just don’t understand.

‘Something’ made me look at DH’s company’s website.  There I discovered there’s a pre-deployment briefing lasting 2.5 hrs next month.  If I don’t get the dates then – something is seriously wrong.  Of course DH was angry I’d gone there.  Guess the kids will have to eat dinner super early that day.  I don’t like that the meeting runs so late on a school night, but gotta do what we gotta do.

Do as I Say, Not as I Do

I need to make my annual appointment.  I haven’t started yet.  I definitely feel like I could today.

Maintenance is to come tomorrow to fix the kids’ bathroom drain.

Today I’ve got to remember to deep condition my hair.  Already changed out the furnace filter yesterday.

Today is the newspaper’s book sale but I don’t think I’ll make an effort.  Last time it was just an assortment of very antiquated junk IMO.

This is DH’s horoscope:  This day should be full of an outgoing energy, which means that you should also be in a more outgoing mood. It’s a great day for connecting with strangers and re-connecting with long-lost friends. If you have been thinking about someone from your past a lot lately, why not do an online search and see if you can find out where they are now? Believe it or not, they would love to hear from you. Nothing may come of it, but it will certainly add some sparkle to your day.
I don’t like it.

DS10 wrote a cute poem at school yesterday:

            We spent all night in a tree.
            When the cook came around,
            We were nowhere to be found.

Turns out I’ve gotta go to the commissary today.  Payday weekend.  Yay.  Not.
DH has to take DD13 to Hobby Lobby today to p/u some supplies to make her diorama.  I asked to tag along to look around.  I want to decorate our house but DH never lets me.  I’m no interior designer by any stretch of the imagination but I just hate our house lacking any decoration.
Meanwhile, DH wanted to clean the vehicles.  That’s an all day procedure.

One thing that’s been annoying me lately is every spare second, DH has been on his PSP.  That seems to be his priority lately.  Plus, like now – he’s playing his PSP AND has the tv on, but really isn’t watching it.  I hate that for a few reasons.  Plus, he’s always telling the kids to turn off their tv’s if they aren’t watching them, etc.  ‘Do as I say, not as I do.’
